Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials with several unique properties which make them excellent agents for many applications such as gas sorption, catalysis, in medicine as drug carriers, and e.g. in environmental chemistry as useful means of removal of various emergent contaminants from waters.
