Socioeconomic Aspects of Lithium Mining in the Cinovec Area

Abstract:

V oblasti Cínovce v Ústeckém kraji se nacházejí nemalá ložiska lithia, jež přilákalo zájem veřejného i soukromého sektoru. Tato práce se zabývá posouzením dopadů předpokládané těžby lithia v lokalitě Cínovce, zejména z hlediska trhu práce v Ústeckém kraji. Sekundární data potřebná pro tuto práci byla získána především z Českého statistického úřadu a z Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí. V rámci kapitoly ubytovací kapacity byla využita primární data, která byla získána z vlastního šetření ubytovacích kapacit v dané lokalitě. Pro potřebu této práce byla provedena zonace území v oblasti Cínovce a byla provedena jejich následná komparace. Analýzou trhu práce v Ústeckém kraji bylo zjištěno, že se trh práce mění v neprospěch těžby, neboť ubývá pracovní síla. Tento nedostatek pracovní síly musí být řešen příchodem nových pracovníků z jiných regionů. Nicméně z výsledků vlastního šetření ubytovacích kapacit byl zjištěn dostatek ubytovacích zařízení pro nově příchozí pracovníky.

Abstract:

In the area of Cínovec in the Usti Region, there are considerable deposits of lithium, which have attracted the interest of both the public and the private sectors. This thesis deals with impacts assesment of the expected lithium mining in the Cínovec locality, especially from the point of view of the labor market in the Usti Region. The secondary data needed for this thesis was obtained mainly from the Czech Statistical Office and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Within the chapter of accommodation, primary data was used, which was obtained from the own investigation of accommodation capacity in that location. For the purpose of this thesis, the zoning of the territory in the area of Cínovec was carried out and their subsequent comparison was made. An analysis of the labor market in the Usti Region found that the labor market is changing to the disadvantade of mining, as the labor force is decreasing. This labor shortage must be addressed by the arrival of new workers from other regions. However, from the results of the own inestigation of accommodation capacities, it was found that there are enough accommodation facilities for newly arrived workers.
