Personal advertisements today and for 100 years ago

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je jazyková analýza seznamovacích inzerátů dnes a před sto lety v českých periodikách Lidové noviny a Mladá fronta DNES. Seznamovací inzerát je totiž žánr, který se už od dob svého prvního otištění těší mezi lidmi velké oblibě. Z toho plyne, že si zcela jistě zaslouží naši pozornost. Nutno dodat, že v Česku existuje řada publikací věnovaných problematice seznamovaní, o jazykové stránce seznamovacích inzerátů se v nich však nedočteme. Analýzu jsme provedli na 134 seznamovacích inzerátech otištěných v deníku Lidové noviny v roce 1906 a 90 seznamovacích inzerátech excerpovaných z téhož deníku a deníku Mladá fronta DNES o sto let později, tedy v roce 2006. Díky celosvětovému fenoménu ? Internetu ? se dnes nejen seznamovací inzerce přesunula na nejrůznější internetové portály, přesto však najdeme ještě poměrně dost lidí, kteří si svůj protějšek hledají prostřednictvím inzerce v tisku. Protože se v případě seznamovacího inzerátu jedná o text psaný, který má navíc omezený rozsah, uplatňuje se v něm explicitnost a jednoznačnost. Slovní zásoba seznamovacího inzerátu je poměrně chudá, tvořená hlavně neutrálními až knižními výrazy a množstvím zkratek. Slova typická pro inzerát pak vyznačují četným opakováním. Rozborem a následnou komparací seznamovacích inzerátů jsme došli k závěru, že se jedná o žánr se specifickou strukturou, vyznačující se tedy jistou schematičností, která však přispívá k usnadnění komunikace mezi inzerentem a čtenářem inzerátu.

Abstract:

In this diploma work I put to near personal advertising in czech print media. In the concrete in Lidové noviny and in Mladá fronta DNES. This genre is very popular and very numerous already long time. I want to contribute to the linguistc analyses of personal advertising, because there is no other work in Czech. The focus have been especially on lexical aspect personal advertisements. The linguistic analysis was applied on the material of 134 advertisements presented for a hundred years ago, in the concrete in the year 1906 in the tabloid Lidové noviny and 90 advertisements presented in the same newspaper (Lidové noviny) and in Mladá fronta DNES in the year 2006. Personal advertising in tabloid is a interesting field for linguistic analysis because in this time we live in the world, where the medium of the Internet is a new phenomenon. In fact there is still a lot of people, who want to find a life partner via a newspaper. At all events it is necessary for the text to be explicit and not to use any ambiguous words. So the wordage of advertisements is quite poor, typical phrases and words are frequently repeated. Language is neutral and literaty with a lot of abreviations. This thesis aims at some of the close connections between men?s and woman?s world of words when they want to find ?Mr.?or ?Miss Right?. Advertisements have their own coding which invites creative and subtle reading to make the meaning. They are created under special structure, but in Czech, there are definitely some deviations from the usual structure. By analysing sunsequent comparison of many personal advertisemens I have come to conclusion that there are several common lines in advertisements today and for hundred years ago.
