Literature and movie: Notre-Dame de Paris

Abstract:

The theme of our thesis is "Literature and cinema: Notre-Dame de Paris". We worked with the roman Notre-Dame de Paris (Hugo) and movie Notre-Dame de Paris (M. O'Hara, Ch. Laughton). First, we target the character of Victor Hugo himself then we study the commune and differences between roman and movie with the attention given to the problematics of the time, environment, narrator and characters. Next we analysed roman and movie without comparing. At the last we compare some of the scenes chosen from the roman and movie.

Abstract:

Le th?me de notre mémoire de licence est : la littérature et le cinéma : Notre-Dame de Paris. Nous avons examiné le roman Notre-Dame de Paris (de Victor Hugo) et l'adaptation cinématographique Notre-Dame de Paris (par M. O'Hara et Ch. Laughton). Au début, nous étudions la personne de Victor Hugo et, apr?s, les traits communs et les différences entre le roman et le film ; nous nous sommes intéressée dans ce travail au temps, ? l'espace, au narrateur et aux personnages. Apr?s, nous faisons des analyses non comparatives du roman et de l'adaptation, selon les mani?res expliquées au début du travail. Enfin, nous faisons la comparaison entre le roman et le film dans quelque sc?ne choisies.
