Hydrogeochemistry of dripwater in Býčí Skála Cave (Moravian Karst)

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na studium dvou skapů (Obří komín, BS1 a Pršavý komín, BS2) v jeskyni Býčí skála (Moravský kras). Cílem bylo prozkoumat, jak se vody chovaly za určitých podmínek v krasovém profilu a jejich vliv na recentní krasové procesy. Důležitým zjištěním bylo potvrzení nenasycené vody u skapu BS2 (SI = -0,28), v jednom termínu (duben). Ostatní skapy byly vzhledem ke kalcitu lehce přesycené (SI od 0,16 do 0,92). Parciální tlaky CO2 ve studovaných vodách (PCO2(voda) od -3,3 do -2,54) byly většinou nižší než v jeskynní atmosféře (PCO2(atm) od -3,15 do -2,76). Tyto vody budou rozpouštět další CO2 a snižovat stupeň nasycení. Ve dvou případech (BS1, říjen a BS2, duben) byl parciální tlak CO2 ve vodě vyšší než v okolní atmosféře. Tyto vody tedy budou odplyňovat a zvyšovat nasycení kalcitem. Ve většině případů byl PCO2 ve vodě nižší, než hypotetický PCO2, který se podílel na vzniku vody v epikrase. U nenasyceného skapu BS2 byl PCO2 ve vodě vyšší, než příslušný hypotetický PCO2 v epikrasu, při kterém se sytila voda kalcitem. To znamená, že voda nasycená CO2 prošla profilem v podmínkách uzavřeného systému rychleji, než došlo k nasycení kalcitem.

Abstract:

This work is focused on the study of two drips (Obří Chimney, BS1and Pršavý Chimney, BS2) in the Býčí Cave (Moravian Karst). The aim was to explore as the waters behave under certain conditions in the karst profile and their influence on the recent karst processes. An important finding was the confirmation of unsaturated water (SI = -0.28) for the water of BS2 drip in one term (April ). Other drip waters were slightly supersaturated by calcite (SI from 0.16 to 0.92). The partial pressures of CO2 in the studied waters (PCO2(water) from -3.3 to -2.54) were generally lower than in the cave atmosphere (PCO2(atm) from -3.15 to -2,76). This waters will dissolve more CO2 and reduce the degree of saturation. In two cases (BS1, October and BS2, April) the partial pressure of CO2 in water was higher than that in cave atmosphere. Thus, the waters will degas and increase saturation with respect to calcite. In most cases, the PCO2 in waters was lower than the hypothetical PCO2 that have participated in the water formation in epikarst. In April, however, the PCO2 in the water of BS2 drip exceeded the corresponding hypothetical PCO2 in epikarst, at which water was saturated by calcite. This indicates that water saturated with CO2 passed the karst profile in under conditions of closed system more quickly than was reached saturation by calcite.
