Možnosti snižování dopadu obalů na životní prostředí

Abstract:

Většina materiálových toků obalů pro produkty spotřební chemie má lineární povahu. Obaly jsou v těchto tocích vyrobeny z primárních surovin za účelem jednorázového použití a na konci životního cyklu skončí na skládce nebo ve spalovně, což s sebou nese významné dopady na životní prostředí, společnost ihospodářství. V zájmu zvyšování udržitelnosti obalů se proto tato práce zaměřuje na koncept cirkulární ekonomiky, ve kterém jsou materiálové toky uzavřeny do funkčních a nekončících cyklů. Na základě literární rešerše a kvalitativního výzkumu u dvou výrobců kosmetických produktů byly identifikovány příležitosti k udržitelným inovacím primárních obalů pro kosmetické produkty, a to v oblastech úspory zdrojů, znovupoužití a recyklace obalových materiálů. Výsledky výzkumu přispívají nejen k teoretickému poznání v oblasti udržitelných inovací obalů, ale rovněž mohou pomoci podnikům chemického průmyslu při rozhodování o inovační strategii v oblasti primárních obalů.

Abstract:

The packaging material flows for consumer chemistry products are mostly linear in nature. The packages in this arrangement are made from primary raw materials for single use and ends up in a landfill or incinerator at the end of its life cycle. This has significant impacts on the environment, society and the economy. Therefore, in order to increase the sustainability of packaging, this work focuses on the concept of circular economics, in which material flows are closed into functional and endless cycles. The opportunities for sustainable innovation of primary packaging for cosmetic products were identified by the literature review and qualitative research made in two cosmetics manufacturers, The main innovations were divided into the areas of resource saving (reduce), reuse and recycling of packaging materials. The results of the research not only contribute to theoretical knowledge in the field of sustainable packaging innovation, but can also help companies in the chemical industry in deciding on an innovation strategy in the field of primary packaging.
