Moral competences, life satisfaction and responsible behavior of university students

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá souvislosti mezi morálními kompetencemi, jak je definuje G. Lind, životní spokojeností a zodpovědným chováním vysokoškolských studentů. Teoretická část je zaměřena na popis morálky a různých teorií morálního vývoje, konkrétně teorie Piageta, Kohlberga a Gilliganové, morálních kompetencí podle Linda, zodpovědného chování a životní spokojenosti. Výzkum byl kvantitativní a zúčastnilo se ho celkem 223 respondentů, a to studentů vysokých škol v ČR. Výzkum byl realizován za pomocí Lindova testu morálních kompetencí (MCT), Dienerovy et al. škály spokojenosti se životem (SWLS) a Martinsova et al. dotazníku na osobní a sociální zodpovědnost (PSRQ). Výsledky naznačují, že úroveň morálních kompetencí nesouvisí s rokem studia a druhem oboru studia. Zároveň se prokázalo, že životní spokojenost nesouvisí s morálními kompetencemi ani se zodpovědným chováním.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the connections between moral competences as defined by G. Lind, life satisfaction and responsible behavior of university students. The theoretical part focuses on the description of morality and the different theories of moral development, specifically the theories of Piaget, Kohlberg and Gilligan, moral competence according to Lind, responsible behavior and life satisfaction. The research was quantitative and involved a total of 223 respondents, namely university students in Czechia. The research was conducted using Lind's Moral Competence Test (MCT), Diener et al.'s Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and Martins et al.'s Personal and Social Responsibility Questionnaire (PSRQ). The results suggest that the level of moral competence is not related to the year of study and the type of field of study. At the same time, life satisfaction was shown not to be related to moral competence or responsible behavior.
