U.S. Humanitarian Intervention as an Instrument of Globalization of Human Rights

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Hlavním cílem je nastínění humanitární intervence do Kosova s důrazem na Clintonovu doktrínu a její pojetí lidských práv. Předmětem práce se stává rozbor této doktríny a pokus na ni aplikovat Heldovo vizi kosmopolitní demokracie. Výzkumná otázka se snaží najít odpověď, zda Bill Clinton dodržel premisy, jež spočívají v ochraně lidských práv, nastolení multietnické společnosti či ukončení násilí v Kosovu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The main aim is to outline the humanitarian intervention in Kosovo, with emphasis on the Clinton doctrine and its concept of human rights. The subject of thesis becomes the analysis of this doctrine and attempt of aplication Held´s vision of cosmopolitan democracy. The research question tries to answer whether Bill Clinton has complied with the premise relating to the protection of human rights, the establishment of a multi-ethnic society or the end of violence in Kosovo.
