Is the U. S. military action against Somali pirates caused by the U. S. interests in the area where Somali pirates are operating or by protection of free marine transport?
Abstract:
Fenomén somálského pirátství zažil ve 21. století opravdový rozmach. Masivní zisky z výkupného, mediální pozornost i vojenskou protiakci si piráti vyžádali svou aktivitou v oblasti Afrického rohu. Tato práce se bude zaměřovat právě na vojenskou protiakci, respektive na důvody vojenského zásahu Spojených států amerických. The importance of phenomenon of Somali piracy increased dramatically in the 21st century. The pirates' activities in the Horn of Africa waters gained the significant attention due to huge incomes from ransom and media and military interest. The thesis is focused on the U.
