Steady-state solution and stability assessment of 1 DOF parametric systems

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá určením analytického periodického řešení a posouzením stability lineárních kmitajících systémů s 1° stupněm volnosti s periodicky proměnnou tuhostí a budící sílou. Analytické řešení matematického modelu vede na integrální Fredholmovu rovnici s degenerovaným jádrem, jejíž řešení je založeno na tzv. periodické Greenově funkci, která je odezvou systému na buzení ve tvaru Diracova hřebene. Existenci analytického periodického řešení lze ověřit pomocí Rungeovy- Kuttovy metody. Jestliže existuje řešení, tak se výsledky analytického řešení shodují s ustáleným stavem získaným pomocí Rungeovy- Kuttovy metody. Dalším zaměřením této práce je posuzování stability zmíněného systému, které je založeno na určení znaménka reálné hodnoty determinantu systémové matice. Jestliže je hodnota determinantu kladná, existuje periodické řešení a systém je stabilní. V opačném případě periodické řešení neexistuje a systém je nestabilní. Speciálním případem je nulová hodnota zmíněného determinantu, která vymezuje hranici mezi stabilní a nestabilní oblastí parametrů systému. Tento nový postup řešení byl ověřen Floquetovou metodou a v porovnání s ní bylo novým postupem dosaženo přesnějších výsledků.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the determination of the analytical periodical solution and stability assessment of one-degree-of-freedom linear vibrating systems with periodically variable stiffness and exciting force. Analytical solution of the mathematical model leads to the Fredholm's integral equation with degenerated kernel, whose solution is based on the periodical Green's function, which is a response of the system to excitation in the form of the Dirac chain. The existence of the analytical periodical solution can be verified by using the Runge-Kutta method. If the solution exists, the results of this solution correspond with the steady stage obtained by the Runge-Kutta method. Another goal of this study is the stability assessment of that system, which is based on identification of the sign of the real value of the determinant of the system matrix. If the value of the determinant is positive, the periodical solution exists and the system is stable, otherwise, the periodical solution does not exist and the system is unstable. The special case is the zero value of that determinant, which defines the borders between stable and unstable regions of system parameters. This new procedure of solution was validated by the Floquet method and the results of the new method were more accurate than the results obtained by the Floquet method.
