Analysis of Deep Web Marketplaces

Abstract:

To fill in existing gap in the research of deep web marketplaces, this bachelor thesis takes into careful consideration their key pillars from the sides of both demand and supply. This paper is designed to find an answer to the research question: “How to find confidence in complete anonymity?” Following pages of the paper sheds light upon secondary and primary research that reveal role of deep web and entering barriers from buyer and seller perspectives. In particular, two by far the largest cryptomarkets AlphaBay and OpenBazaar are being analyzed. Conclusion of the paper summarizes key points and examines growth potential of deep web marketplaces.
