The Roma Youth in Foster Care System

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce, která je nazvaná Romská mládež v systému pěstounské péče, se věnuje problematice pěstounské péče romských dětí. Cílem bakalářské práce je přiblížit tuto problematiku a zjistit, jaké jsou postoje pěstounů a sociálních pracovníků k pěstounské péči romských dětí. Dalším cílem je zjištění, co brání a naopak napomáhá při umísťování romských dětí do pěstounské péče a jaké jsou motivy pěstounů pro to, aby se stali pěstouny etnicky odlišného dítěte. V teoretické části se zabývám pěstounskou péčí ve vztahu k romským dětem. Dále zde hovořím o pěstounech a sociálních pracovnících. V neposlední řadě zde popisuji romskou kulturu a výchovu dětí v romské rodině. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je věnována pojmu postoj. Metodologickou část zaměřuji na kvalitativní výzkum, který byl využit při výzkumu této bakalářské práce, abych byla schopna odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku „Jaký je postoj pěstounů a sociálních pracovníků k pěstounské péči romských dětí?“ V empirické části poté prezentuji výsledky svého výzkumu a závěrečná zjištění.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis, called the Roma youth in foster care system, deals with the issues of foster care for Roma children. The purpose of the paper is to approach this issue and determine what the attitude of foster parents and social workers is in relation to foster care for Roma children. Another objective is to find out, what prevents and, on the other hand, what assists in placing Roma children into custody and what are the motives of foster parents to foster an ethnically different child. The theoretical part deals with custody and foster care in relation to Roma children. Further, the foster parent and social worker are described. Finally, I cover the Roma culture and the upbringing of children in a Roma family. The target of the last chapter is the concept of attitude. The methodological part is focused on qualitative research, which was used in the research of this thesis, so that it was possible to answer the primary research question: "What is the attitude of foster parents and social workers to foster care for Roma children?" In the empirical part are presented the results of the research and final conclusions.
