Risk management and its role in insurance

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce je zaměřena na Risk management a jeho roli v pojišťovnictví. Riziko obklopuje každého člověka i podnikatelský subjekt a všichni usilují pomocí různých metod, ať už intuitivních nebo ověřených, o vyhnutí se negativním dopadům. Téma Risk managementu je stále významnější a diskutovanější, proto se jím zabývá i tato diplomová práce. Risk management a pojišťovnictví spolu úzce souvisí, a právě proto se tato práce zabývá vazbami a souvislostmi, které mezi nimi vznikají. Cílem práce je návrh opatření, která by umožnila redukci rizik pro v práci specifikované existující klienty společnosti ABC, a. s. a XYZ, a. s. (skutečné názvy nejsou z důvodu ochrany osobních údajů uvedeny). Základ pro jednotlivá doporučení tvoří vyhodnocení rizik klientů, které je provedeno dle metod využívaných v makléřské společnosti RENOMIA, a. s. První část práce tvoří literární rešerše pro oblasti Risk managementu a pojišťovnictví. Následuje představení společnosti RENOMIA, a. s., pro kterou je tato diplomová práce zpracovávána. Dále jsou analyzovány a zhodnoceny jednotlivé principy Risk managementu, které jsou součástí služeb nabízených klientům. Práce pokračuje analýzou jednotlivých rizik u klientů a jsou provedené rizikové prohlídky, aby bylo možné vyhodnotit jednotlivá rizika. Hlavní část práce tvoří poslední kapitola, kde jsou navržena doporučení a opatření, která by umožnila redukci rizik pro v práci specifikované klienty.

Abstract:

The submitted master's thesis is focused on Risk management and its role in the insurance. Every person and business entity is surrounded by risk. Everybody tries to avoid negative effects using various methods whether intuitive or proven. Risk management is an increasingly important and more discussed topic and therefore thesis deals with this issue. Risk management and insurance are closely related, and therefore the thesis deals with the links and connections that arise between them. The thesis aims to propose measures that would allow the reduction of risks for existing clients of analyzed brokerage company, companies ABC, a. s. and XYZ, a. s. (real names are not listed for privacy reasons). The basis for individual recommendations is the risk assessment of clients, which is performed according to the methods used in the brokerage company RENOMIA, a. s. The first part of the thesis consists of literature searches for Risk management and insurance. In the next part, the company RENOMIA, a. s., is introduced for which this master's thesis is prepared. Furthermore, individual principles of Risk management, which belong to services offered to clients, are analyzed and evaluated. The thesis continues with the risk analysis based on risk inspections that are performed to evaluate client´s individual risks. The main part of the thesis is the last chapter, where recommendations and measures that would allow the reduction of risks for clients specified at the thesis are proposed.
