Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zpětnou vazbou v kontextu oboru překladatelství na Katedře anglistiky a amerikanistiky na Masarykově univerzitě v Brně. Skládá se z části teoretické, která zkoumá současné teorie v oblasti translatologie, které souvisí se zpětnou vazbou. V této oblasti však teorie souvisí se zpětnou vazbou pouze okrajově, a proto je tato část doplněna ještě o teorie zpětné vazby z oblasti pedagogiky. V oblasti pedagogiky je zpětná vazba zkoumána celostnějším způsobem, ale tyto teorie se nevztahují přímo na překlad. V poslední kapitole teoretické části jsou podrobně popsány současné prostředky zpětné vazby, které se používají při výuce na výše zmíněném oboru překladatelství. Další částí této diplomové práce je praktický výzkum, který se skládá ze dvou dotazníků. Jeden dotazník je určen pro studenty oboru překladatelství na Katedře anglistiky a amerikanistiky a druhý dotazník je určen pro učitele na daném oboru. Stěžejní částí této práce je především studentský dotazník, který zkoumá pohled studentů na současnou praxi zpětné vazby na překladatelském oboru a má za cíl najít oblasti, které by se daly zlepšit. Doplňkem k tomuto dotazníku je učitelský dotazník, který má za cíl zjistit názor učitelů na prostředky zpětné vazby a slouží jako porovnání s výsledky dotazníku pro studenty. Na základě těchto dvou dotazníků a teorií z první části práce nabízí tato práce v závěru návrhy na zlepšení současné situace. Dokládá, že přístup orientovaný víc na aktivní zapojení studentů do zpětné vazby může vést zlepšování dovedností studentů a také k větší spokojenosti jak studentů, tak učitelů.

Abstract:

This thesis is devoted to feedback in the context of the Translation Programme at the Department of English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University in Brno. It consists of a theoretical part which explores current theories in the field of translation studies that relate to feedback. However, these theories only touch upon feedback and therefore this part is supplemented by the theories of feedback from within the pedagogical studies. Within pedagogy the theories of feedback are much more developed although they are not directly connected to translation. In the theoretical part of the thesis the translation practices that are currently used at the Translation Programme at the Department are described in depth. The next part of the thesis is a practical research which consists of two questionnaires, one for the students of the Translation Programme at the Department and one for the teachers of this programme. The student questionnaire is the core part of the practical part as it examines students’ perspective on the current feedback practices at the Translation Programme and seeks for practices that could be improved. As a supplement teacher questionnaire was also distributed to examine the teachers’ opinion on the methods and also as measure against which can the results of the student questionnaire compared. On the basis of the two questionnaires and the theories described in the first part the thesis provides suggestions for improvement of the current feedback practices. It argues for a more student-centred approach that actively involves students into the feedback practices which can result in improved learning as well as more satisfaction with the feedback by both students and teachers.
