Práca mala vytýčené dva ciele, a to zhromaždiť archeologický materiál a dostupné informácie z povodia rieky Hron, ako aj riešiť vzťah osídlenia k prírodnému prostrediu a zmenu sídelnej štruktúry z toho vyplývajúcej.
