Conceptual model of M. Leininger in nursing practice

Abstract:

V dnešní době dochází díky migraci ke stále častějšímu kontaktu zdravotnického personálu s pacienty/klienty cizích národností, etnik či náboženského vyznání. Tito lidé mají často odlišné biopsychosociální a spirituální potřeby než sestry/porodní asistentky, které je ošetřují. Tyto potřeby bychom měli při své práci zohledňovat a respektovat je. K tomu je zajisté potřeba i kvalitního vzdělání v multikulturní a transkulturní problematice. V teoretické části své bakalářské práci se zabývám multikulturním a transkulturním ošetřovatelstvím a s pojmy s nimi spojené. Dále se věnuji koncepčním modelům všeobecně proč vznikají, jaké mají součásti, jak je dělíme. V poslední kapitole teoretické části se zabývám již samotným modelem Madeleine Leiningerové. Jaký důvod stál u zrodu tohoto modelu, metaparadigmatické koncepce modelu, hlavní jednotky koncepčního modelu a rozdělení kulturní péče. Cílem výzkumné části bylo zjistit informovanost sester v ošetřovatelské praxi o koncepčním modelu Madeleine Leiningerové. Dílčími cíli bylo zjistit v jakých oblastech tohoto modelu nemají sestry znalosti a důvod, proč se tento model nepoužívá v ošetřovatelské praxi. Výzkumné šetření probíhalo v roce 2013 dotazníkovou formou, která mi umožnila oslovit širší vzorek respondentů ze tří různých zdravotnických zařízení.

Abstract:

Today, migration is due to the ever more frequent contact medical staff and patients/clients of foreign nationalities, ethnicities or religion. These people often have different biopsychosocial and spiritual needs than nurses/midwives who is treating them. These needs should take into account in their work and respect them. This is certainly a need and a quality education in a multicultural and transcultural issues. In teoretical part of my bachelor thesis deals with multicultural and transcultural nursing and concepts associated with them. Then I describe the conceptual models in general - why are formed, what their components, how they are divided. In the last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the model itself already Madeleine Leininger. What reason was at the birth of this model, metaparadigmatic concept model, the main unit of the conceptual model and the distribution of cultural care. The aim of the research was to inform nurses in nursing practice, the conceptual model Madeleine Leininger. Partial objectives was to identify the areas in which this model does not have knowledge of the nurses and the reason why this model is not used in nursing practice. The survey was carried out in 2013 in the form of a questionnaire that allowed me to reach a wider sample of respondents from three different medical devises.
