Abstract:

Ústředním tématem této diplomové práce je postavení Norska v současných mezinárodních vztazích. Jeho postavení je analyzováno zejména vzhledem k jeho velikosti, resp. malosti (nedostatku zdrojů moci tzv. hard power) a využitím jiných zdrojů moci (soft power) k získání vlivu a dobrého postavení. Pro Norsko, jako malý stát je důležitý zejména směr a koncept zahraniční politiky, která současně determinuje jeho současný vliv a postavení v mezinárodním prostředí. Norsko si zakládá zejména na mezinárodní spolupráci, prosazování míru a dodržování norem mezinárodního práva a lidských práv, které jsou nezbytnou nutností pro jeho existenci. K tomu využívá členství v mezinárodních organizacích – zejména v OSN, NATO a jiných strukturách. V zahraniční politice se reflektuje i jeho historie a získání nezávislosti teprve až začátkem 20. století (r.1905) – z objektu se stal subjekt mezinárodního prostředí. Ze závěru práce vyplývá, že Norsko, byť malý stát, má obrovský potenciál k tomu, aby mohlo spoluutvářet a dohlížet na mezinárodní pořádek (zejména potenciál v severských oblastech, resp. High North, mírové mise, role mediátora). V práci je využitá analýza postavení Norska a také komparace s jinými státy (zejména s dalšími Severskými státy) v mezinárodním prostředí.

Abstract:

The main theme of this thesis is the position of Norway in the current international relations. Its position is analysed with respect to its small size, respectively the lack of power sources (so-called hard power), and the use of other power sources (soft power) to gain influence and good standing. For Norway, being a small state, the direction and concept of foreign policy is particularly important, it determines its current influence and also its position in the international environment. Norway relies on international cooperation, primarily the promotion of peace and respect for the norms of international law and human rights, which are essential for its existence. To do this, it uses membership in international organizations – concretely in the UN, NATO and other structures. Foreign policy also reflects its history and gaining independence at the beginning of the 20th century (1905) – when Norway became the subject of the international environment. The conclusion of the thesis shows that Norway, even as a small state, has a huge potential to co-create and oversee the international order (especially the potential in the Nordic areas – respectively High North, peacekeeping missions, the role of mediator). This research uses an analysis of the position of Norway and comparisons with other states as well (especially with other Nordic states) in the international environment.
