Impact of population aging on the health care financing

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá současným demografickým problémem, stárnutím obyvatelstva, a jeho dopadem na zdravotní systém v České republice a jeho financování. Práce popisuje současný zdravotní systém v České republice a dalších vybraných zemích. V práci jsou rozebrány možnosti financování zdravotních systémů. Dále je v práci popsán historický vývoj českého zdravotní systému současně s charakteristikou základních demografických trendů. Na základě projekce obyvatelstva ČR z roku 2013 je modelován vývoj příjmů a výdajů zdravotních pojišťoven a vývoj výdajů za tzv. státní pojištěnce. Na tomto základě jsou kvantifikovány důsledky stárnutí populace na financování zdravotního systému v ČR a jsou navržena některá opatření pro zajištění udržitelnosti kvalitní a dostupné zdravotní péče.

Abstract:

The bachelor‘s thesis focuses on the current demographic problem, population aging and its impact on the healthcare system in the Czech Republic and its financing. The thesis describes current healthcare system in the Czech Republic and other selected countries. The thesis analyzes the possibilities of financing healthcare systems. Further, the thesis describes the historical development of the healthcare system and characteristics of the basic demographic trends. Based on the demographic projection of the population of the Czech Republic in 2013, the development of the healthcare system is modeled, especially the income and expenditure of health insurance companies and the development of expenditures on so-called state insured persons. The result is to find out the implications of population aging for financing the healthcare system and to suggest some measures for the sustainability of good quality and affordable care.
