Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje vztah mezi depresivitou a regulací pozitivních emocí u českých a slovenských dospělých respondentů (n = 446) s využitím dvou teoretických modelů: Grossův procesní model zaměřený na strategie a klinicky orientovaný model Gratz & Roemer identifikující potíže ve schopnostech adaptivní regulace. Hlavními cíli bylo zjistit souvislost mezi potížemi v regulaci pozitivních emocí měřených škálou DERS-P a depresivitou měřenou BDI-II, analyzovat vztah použití strategií regulace pozitivních emocí (tlumení, přesun pozornosti, vychutnávání, pozitivní ruminace) a depresivity a prověřit souvislost mezi oběma modely. Výsledky ukázaly na významnou souvislost potíží v regulaci pozitivních emocí s mírou depresivity, a dále že strategie tlumení, přesun pozornosti a oslabené vychutnávání souvisí s vyšší mírou depresivních symptomů. Byla potvrzena souvislost mezi oběma modely a zjištěny statisticky významné rozdíly mezi pohlavími v míře depresivity a potížích regulace pozitivních emocí. Práce zdůrazňuje význam adaptivní regulace pozitivních emocí pro duševní zdraví a identifikuje vzorce emoční regulace související s vyšší mírou depresivity.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis analyzes the relationship between depression (severity of depressive symptoms) and positive emotion regulation in Czech and Slovak adult sample (n = 446) using two theoretical models: the strategy-focused process model of emotion regulation and the clinically oriented model by Gratz & Roemer, that identifies difficulties in ability to regulate positive emotions adaptively. The main objectives were to determine the association between difficulties in positive emotion regulation measured by the DERS-P and depression measured by the BDI-II, to analyze the relationship between the use of positive emotion regulation strategies (dampening, attentional deployment, savoring, positive rumination) and depression, and to investigate the association between the two models. The results indicated a significant association of difficulties in positive emotion regulation with depression levels, and that suppression, attentional deployment, and impaired savoring strategies were related to higher levels of depressive symptoms. The association between the two models was confirmed, and statistically significant gender differences were found in scores of depression and difficulties in positive emotion regulation. The thesis highlights the importance of adaptive regulation of positive emotions for mental health and identifies patterns of emotion regulation associated with higher depressive symptoms.
