Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce se zabývá románem Bernardine Evaristo Girl, Woman, Other s konkrétním zaměřením na reprezentaci vybraných intersekčních prvků, které by potvrzova-ly hypotézu, že tento román lze považovat za přínosný v rámci intersekcionálního feminismu. Aby to bylo dokázáno, jsou k analýze vybrána dvě témata z románu, příležitostně je však poukázáno i na další intersekční vazby mimo oblast diplomové práce. Pro zajištění vzájem-ného porozumění oblasti analýzy je v práci zahrnut úvod do feministické teorie, ageismu, genderu a sexuality.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis views Bernardine Evaristo’s novel Girl, Woman, Other with a particular focus on the representation of chosen intersectional elements that would attest to the hypothesis that this novel can be considered valuable in the field of intersectional femi-nism. In order to prove this, two topics are chosen for analysis within the novel, yet other further intersection-al links beyond the thesis’ area are pointed out on occasion. Furthermore, an introduction to feminist theory, ageism, gender, and sexuality is integrated so that mutual understanding of the field that is analysed is established.
