Compliance barrier nursing techniques in connection with surgical site infection

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vybraných bariérových ošetřovacích technik v souvislosti se vznikem infekce v místě chirurgického výkonu při přípravě operačního týmu (perioperační sestra - instrumentářka, operatér) před chirurgickým výkonem. Teoretická část diplomové práce je věnována infekcím spojených se zdravotní péčí, infekcím v místě chirurgického výkonu a možnostem ovlivnění tohoto rizika. Průzkumné šetření bylo provedeno prostřednictvím zúčastněného pozorování, doplněno o informace poskytnuté hlavním hygienikem zdravotnického zařízení (metoda řízeného rozhovoru). Hlavním cílem bylo ověřit dodržování vybraných bariérových postupů pro bezpečnou péči v souvislosti s infekcí v místě chirurgického výkonu v perioperační péči. Praktickým výstupem této práce je zmapování nejčastějších nedostatků, na jehož základě by mohla být upravena metodika pro školení zaměstnanců.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of selected barrier treatment techniques in connection with the onset of infection at the surgical site during the preparation of the surgical team (perioperative nurse - scrub nurse, surgeon) before surgery. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to infections associated with health care, infections at the site of surgery and the possibility of influencing this risk. The survey was carried out by means of participating observation, supplemented by information provided by the Chief Health Officer of the healthcare facility (controlled interview method). The main objective was to verify compliance with selected barrier procedures for safe care in connection with infection at the surgical site in perioperative care. The practical outcome of this work is to map out the most common failures, on the basis of which the methodology for employee training could be modified.
