Visions of light kinetics of the 21st century

Abstract:

Těžiště práce se nachází ve snaze porovnat přístupy současných umělců spolu s odkazem avantgardních tvůrců. Díky vymezení jejich odkazů v první kapitole můžeme najít společné znaky. Tyto znaky spolu se závěrem druhé kapitoly vytvářejí paralelu se současným stavem. Díky tomuto srovnání jsme schopni definovat současnou revoluční praxi, která udává nový trend a přináší inovativní postupy technologií v novém miléniu. Práce se zabývá vývojem světelně kinetického umění v letech 1920 až 2020 a otázkou, nakolik či jakými způsoby se samotné avantgardní vize v současnosti naplnily či nikoli.

Abstract:

These shared features are reflected in and help form the contemporary art. Owing to this comparison, we are able to define the current revolutionary scene, which has brought new trends as well as innovative technologies in the new millennium. This thesis focused on the development of the light-kinetics art in the period 1920-2020. Through this chronological overview, we can see how and to what extent the individual avantgarde perceptions and visions found their way into the present, or how they, on the other hand, perished.
