Plicní onemocnění jsou třetí nejčastější příčinou úmrtí v Evropě. Současné metody léčby, jako je transplantace, nejsou uspokojivé. Onemocnění dýcha-cích cest představují zároveň velkou zátěž pro zdravotnický systém. Lung diseases are the third most common cause of death in Europe. Currently available treatments such as transplantation do not provide sufficient success. At the same time, diseases of the respiratory system constitute a major burden to the health care system.
