Women's Awareness about Breastfeeding

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá informovaností žen o kojení. Teoretická část se v jednotlivých kapitolách věnuje historii kojení, významu mateřského mléka, jeho složení, hormonům, které ovlivňují jeho tvorbu. Dále je v práci popsán význam kojení, výhody a nevýhody kojení, technika kojení, podpora kojení, alternativní způsoby kojení, umělá výživa a příkrmy, potíže, které mohou nastat při kojení a absolutní či částečné kontraindikace kojení. Praktická část zpracovává výsledky z dotazníkového šetření, které bylo realizováno přes internet u žen před porodem a u žen maximálně 3 roky po porodu. Cílem průzkumu bylo zjistit informovanost žen o kojení, způsob získávání informací o kojení, způsob podávání informací od zdravotnických pracovníků a zda jsou ženy dostatečně motivovány ke kojení.

Abstract:

This bachelor Thesis is engaged in women's awareness about breastfeeding. The individual chapters of the theoretical part deal with the history of breastfeeding, the importance of breast milk, its composition and hormones that affect its production. Next, this part also describes the importance of breastfeeding, advantages and disadvantages of breastfeeding, breastfeeding techniques, breastfeeding support, alternative methods of breastfeeding, artificial feeding and complementary foods, difficulties that may occur during breastfeeding and true or partial contraindications to breastfeeding. The practical part sums up the results of a questionnaire survey, which was conducted over the Internet among pregnant women and among women up to three years after giving birth. The aim of the survey was to determine women’s awareness of breastfeeding, how they obtain information about breastfeeding, the ways they are provided information from health professionals and whether women are sufficiently motivated to breastfeed.
