The process of mourning and spirituality

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na fenomény spiritualita a truchlení. V teoretické části se zabýváme vymezením těchto pojmů. Samotná teoretická část je rozdělená do tří kapitol. První kapitola popisuje truchlení, jeho fáze, faktory ovlivňující truchlení a také komplikované truchlení. V druhé kapitole se zabýváme spiritualitou, jejími modely a pojetím spirituality jako součásti osobnosti i druhu inteligence. Třetí kapitola bakalářské práce je věnována předešlým výzkumům, které byly zaměřeny na tuto problematiku. Ve výzkumné části zkoumáme, zda mezi truchlením a spiritualitou existuje vztah a dále, zda vybrané zkoumané proměnné mají vliv na proces truchlení. Pro zjištění těchto souvislostí byl použit sociodemografický dotazník, dotazník Expression of Spirituality Inventory Revised (ESI-R) a dotazník Inventory of Complicated Grief (ICG). Výsledky poukazují na to, že mezi spiritualitou a truchlením existuje jen velmi malá souvislost. Dále jsme zjistili, že mezi proměnné, které mají vliv na proces truchlení patří pohlaví respondenta, věk zesnulého, vzdálenost ztráty, blízkost vztahu a zbožnost respondenta.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the phenomena of spirituality and mourning. In theoretical part we deal with definition of these concepts. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes mourning, its phases, factors influencing mourning and complicated grief. In the second chapter we deal with spirituality, its models and with spirituality as part of personality as well as kind of intelligence. The third chapter of the bachelor thesis is dedicated to previous researches, which were focused on this issue. In the research part we explore, if there is some relationship between spirituality and mourning and, if there is influence of the variables on the mourning process. For exploring these connections, we used sociodemographic questionnaire, the Expression of Spirituality Inventory Revised (ESI-R) and the Inventory of Complicated Grief (ICG). The results show that there is very small connection between spirituality and mourning. We also found out that variables which have influence on mourning are gender of the respondent, age of the deceased, distance of loss, closeness of the relationship and religiousness of the respondent.
