How Covid-19 influenced competitiveness of the chosen hotel

Abstract:

Cílem práce je identifikovat, do jaké míry pandemie Covidu-19 ovlivnila konkurenční schopnosti hotelu Energetic a jeho fungování v konkurenčním prostředí. V teoretické části jsou představena potřebná východiska pro pochopení procesu analýzy konkurenceschopnosti, které následně doplňuje popis zvolených výzkumných metod, jako je PESTLE, PORTER, SWOT analýza a strukturovaný rozhovor, díky kterým lze zjistit postavení hotelu v konkurenčním prostředí. Je taky popsán vývoj zavedených opatření vlády ČR pro ubytovací zařízení a druhy kompenzace, které mohli podnikatelé čerpat. Poznatky z části teoretické jsou aplikovány na hotel Energetic v části praktické, kde se objevují informace o hotelu a primárních či sekundárních dopadech Covidu-19, které jsou zjištěny zejména díky strukturovanému rozhovoru s ředitelem hotelu. Pomocí zvolených metod je provedena analýza hotelu Energetic a na základě jejich výsledků jsou definované závěry analýzy a zpracovaná doporučení pro udržení a zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti hotelu v konkurenčním prostředí. ˇ

Abstract:

Abstract The aim of this bachelor thesis is to identify the extent to which the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the competitive capabilities of the Hotel Energetic and its performance in a competitive environment. The theoretical part presents the necessary background to understand the process of competitive analysis, which is then complemented by a description of the chosen research methods such as PESTLE, PORTER, SWOT analysis and structured interview, which can be used to determine the position of the hotel in the competitive environment. The evolution of the government measures introduced for accommodation establishments and the types of compensation that entrepreneurs could draw upon are also described. The findings from the theoretical part are applied to the Energetic Hotel in the practical part, where information about the hotel and the primary or secondary impacts of Covid-19 are revealed, mainly through a structured interview with the hotel manager. Using the chosen methods, an analysis of the Energetic hotel is carried out and based on the results, the conclusions of the analysis are defined and recommendations are developed to maintain and increase the hotel's competitiveness in a competitive environment.
