Quality of life, social support and partner relationship satisfaction of patients with mental disorders.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje kvalitě života, sociální opoře a spokojenosti v partnerském vztahu u pacientů s duševním onemocněním. Cílem tohoto výzkumu bylo prozkoumat míru kvality života, sociální opory a partnerské spokojenosti u pacientů s duševním onemocněním, konkrétně s psychotickými poruchami, afektivními poruchami a se závislostí na návykových látkách. Zároveň nás zajímaly vztahy mezi těmito fenomény. Celkový počet respondentů byl 69. Pro účely našeho výzkumu jsme sestavili baterii dotazníků. Pro zjištění sociální opory jsme zvolili dotazník Social Provisions Scale (SPS), kvalita života respondentů byla zkoumána pomocí dotazníku Subjective Quality of Life Analysis (SQUALA) a k měření partnerské spokojenosti posloužil dotazník Couples Satisfaction Index (CSI). Mezi kvalitou života, sociální oporou a partnerskou spokojeností u pacientů s duševním onemocněním zjistil náš výzkum statisticky významný pozitivní vztah. Pacienti se závislostí na návykových látkách dosáhli vyššího skóre v dotazníku na sociální oporu než pacienti s psychotickou nebo afektivní poruchou. Statisticky významné rozdíly byly zjištěny u škály dotazníku na kvalitu života (SQUALA) mezi pacienty s psychotickým onemocněním a pacienty s afektivními poruchami. Pacienti s psychotickou poruchou dosáhli vyššího skóre než pacienti s afektivními poruchami. U partnerské spokojenosti, měřené dotazníkem CSI, nebyly zjištěny statisticky významné rozdíly mezi pacienty.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the quality of life, social support and romantic relationship satisfaction in patients with mental illness. The aim of this research was to explore the quality of life, social support and partner satisfaction in patients with mental illness, specifically with psychotic disorders, affective disorders and addiction to a substance. At the same time, we were interested in the relationships between these phenomena. The total number of respondents was 69. For the purposes of our research, we compiled a questionnaire battery. To map social support, we chose the Social Provisions Scale (SPS), respondents' quality of life was examined using the Subjective Quality of Life Analysis (SQUALA) questionnaire and the Couples Satisfaction Index (CSI) was used to measure partner satisfaction. Our research has found statistically significant positive relationship between quality of life, social support and relationship satisfaction in patients with mental illness. Patients with addiction achieved higher score in the social support questionnaire than patients with psychotic or affective disorder. Statistically significant differences were found in the Quality of Life Questionnaire (SQUALA) scale between psychotic patients and patients with affective disorders. Patients with a psychotic disorder achieved higher score than those with affective disorders. There was no statistically significant difference between patients in relationship satisfaction measured by the CSI questionnaire.
