The effectiveness of using shockwave therapy on the reduction of spasticity and recovery of upper limb function in the post-stroke patient: Randomized Controlled Study (RCT).

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to set up a new randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the efficacy of radial shock wave treatment on the reduction of spasticity, muscle stiffness, and recovery of upper limb function in subacute post-stroke patients. The proposal of the new study is based on the analysis and discussion of the results of a recent systematic review on the chosen topic.

Abstract:

L'obiettivo di questa tesi ? quello di impostare un nuovo studio controllato randomizzato (RCT) per valutare l'efficacia del trattamento con onde d'urto radiali sulla riduzione della spasticit?, della stiffness muscolare e sul recupero della funzionalit? dell'arto superiore in pazienti post ictus in fase subacuta. La proposta del nuovo studio si basa sull'analisi e sulla discussione dei risultati di una recente revisione sistematica in merito all'argomento scelto.
