Work load of nurses who work on covid units

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku psychické pracovní zátěže. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit psychickou pracovní zátěž u zdravotních sester, které pracují na covidové jednotce. K hodnocení psychické pracovní zátěže u těchto zdravotních sester byl použit Meisterův dotazník a dotazník vlastní tvorby. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 114 všeobecných sester ze dvou různých pracovišť. Z výzkumného šetření vyplynulo, že kritické hodnoty byly překročeny u faktoru 1 a u faktoru 3. Zdravotní sestry na těchto pracovištích mají zvýšenou psychickou pracovní zátěž hlavně v oblasti časové tísně, vysoké odpovědnosti, dlouhodobé únosnosti, nervozity a únavy. U zdravotních sester se neprokázala závislost mezi délkou praxe a psychickou zátěží, dále se neprokázala závislost mezi výběrem povolání znovu na základě získaných zkušeností na covidové jednotce a mírou psychické zátěže, kterou tam prožívaly. V dalším testování se také neprokázala závislost mezi využitím relaxačních technik a následného snížení psychické zátěže. Zdravotní sestry z těchto jednotek nejvíce udávaly příklady zatěžujících vlivů při práci jako péče o umírajícího pacienta a psychickou a fyzickou pracovní zátěž. V posledním testování se potvrdilo, že alespoň jedna hodnota zkoumaných průměrů neodpovídá populační normě žen.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the issue of psychological workload. The aim of this thesis was to find out the psychological workload of nurses working in the covid unit. Meister's questionnaire and self-made questionnaire were used to assess the psychological workload in these nurses. 114 general nurses from two different departments participated in the study. The research investigation revealed that the critical values were exceeded for factor 1 and factor 3. Nurses in these workplaces have increased psychological workload mainly in the areas of time pressure, high responsibility, long term carrying capacity, nervousness and fatigue. Nurses have not shown a relationship between length of experience and psychological strain, and there was no relationship between the choice of profession, again based on the experience gained in the covid unit, and the level of psychological strain experienced there. And in the last test, there was also no relationship between the use of relaxation techniques and the subsequent reduction in psychological distress. Nurses from these units gave the most examples of burdensome influences at work such as caring for a dying patient and psychological and physical workload. The latest testing confirmed that at least one value of the tested averages does not correspond to the population norm of women.
