Lifestyle policy of the Hipsters Subculture and identification of their consumer preferences

Anotace:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem subkultur, blíže subkulturou hipsterů. Cílem práce je definovat fenomén subkultur a dále se věnovat subkultuře hipsterů a charakteristice jejich společných znaků a zájmů. Cílem výzkumného šetření je zjistit a blíže popsat životní styl této subkultury a určit spotřební preference jednotlivých členů. Ze získaných dat z hloubkových rozhovorů s 5 zástupci zmíněné subkultury je hlavním přínosem návrh vlastní marketingové kampaně, která by potenciálně mohla úspěšně cílit na hipstery. Hlavním zjištěním bakalářské práce je snaha hipsterů se za každou cenu odlišovat od mainstreamové společnosti. Vysoká míra různorodosti a originality každého jedince způsobuje obtížnější identifikaci hipsterů spolu s charakteristikou jejich společných znaků. Hipstery spojuje lehkomyslný a nahodilý způsob života a preference investování peněz do zážitků místo nákupu fyzických produktů.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of subcultures, more specifically the subculture of hipsters. The aim of the thesis is to define the phenomenon of subcultures and to deal with the subculture of hipsters and the characteristics of their common features and interests. The aim of the research is to find out and describe in more detail the lifestyle of this subculture and to determine the consumption preferences of individual members. From the data obtained from in-depth interviews with 5 representatives of the mentioned subcultures, the main benefit is a custom marketing campaign, which could potentially successfully target hipsters. The main finding of the bachelor thesis is the effort of hipsters to differ from mainstream society at all costs. The high degree of diversity and originality of each individual makes the identification of hipsters harder along with the characteristics of their common features. Hipsters combine a reckless and casual way of life and a preference to invest money in experiences instead of buying physical products.
