Economic Activity of Foreigners in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou cizinců z pohledu jejich ekonomické aktivity na českém trhu práce, představuje trendy v oblasti imigrace do ČR a popisuje české pracovní prostředí z pohledu atraktivity pro cizince. Teoretická část seznamuje jednak s demografickými údaji a s historickým vývojem, tak i s legislativními normami. Zároveň jsou zde uvedeny počty cizinců žijících v ČR, podle různých kategorií. Praktická část práce se zabývá dílčím cílem, což je analýza vlastních primárních dat, které byly získány od 74 cizinců dvaceti národností žijící v ČR, a pracující na českém trhu práce. Tyto data mapují spokojenost těchto cizinců s podmínkami jejich ekonomické aktivity na trhu práce. Zkoumány jsou především vztahy: cizinec - zaměstnavatel a cizinec -- občan ČR a to nejen obecně, ale i v závislosti na věku a na vzdělání. Závěrem lze říci, že oslovení cizinci převážně jsou spokojeni s přístupem zaměstnavatele, ale zároveň se potýkají s diskriminací od českých občanů a naráží na různé bariéry, ať již administrativního, či kulturního rázu.

Abstract:

This bachelor work is focused on issue of foreigners from perspective of their economical activity in the Czech labor market. The work shows trends in immigration to the Czech Republic and describes the working environment of foreigners in Czech Republic and attractiveness for foreigners. Theoretical part introduces on the one hand demographic data and historical development, and on the other hand explains legislative standards, as well. There are also included statistical numbers of foreigners living in the Czech Republic, according to various categories. The practical part deals with the partial goal, which is my own analysis of primary data. These data were obtained from 74 foreigners of twenty nationalities living in the Czech Republic, and working on the Czech labor market. These data shows the satisfaction of these foreigners with the terms of their economic activity in the labor market. Under investigation are primarily relationships: a foreigner - the employer and the foreigner - a citizen of the Czech Republic, not only in general but also depending on age and education. In conclusion, the interviewed migrants are mostly satisfied with the approach of the employer, but also face discrimination from Czech citizens and encounter different barriers, whether administrative or cultural charakter.
