Strengths and weaknesses of social security financing in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá soustavou sociálního zabezpečení ČR a věnuje se analýze financování konkrétních subsystémů soustavy. Cílem práce je určit silné a slabé stránky systému financování sociálního zabezpečení České republiky, a to na základě rozboru nástrojů financování systému a faktorů ovlivňujících hospodaření jednotlivých subsystémů soustavy a analýzy příjmů a výdajů těchto subsystémů. Bakalářská práce je členěná do čtyř kapitol. První kapitola vysvětluje nejdůležitější pojmy v rámci sociálního zabezpečení: sociální politiku, sociální zabezpečení a sociální události. Druhá kapitola se zabývá popisem soustavy sociálního zabezpečení v ČR, rozděluje soustavu na pojistný a nepojistný pilíře a také uvádí způsoby financování sociálního zabezpečení. Třetí a čtvrtá kapitoly se věnují hospodaření konkrétních subsystémů obou pilířů soustavy sociálního zabezpečení ČR a analyzují silné a slabé stránky jejích financování a plní tím cíl práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis looks into the system of social security in the Czech Republic and pursues the analysis of financing of particular subsystems of the system. The aim of this thesis is to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the system of social security financing in the Czech Republic based on the analysis of the system financing mechanisms as well as the factors affecting the financial health of particular subsystems and on the analysis of incomes and expenses of these subsystems. The bachelor thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter explains the most important terms of social security: social policy, social security and insured events. The second chapter describes the social security system in the Czech Republic, divides the system into insurance and non-insurance pillars and also presents the methods of social security financing. The third and fourth chapters look into the financial balance of particular subsystems of both pillars of the Czech social security system, analyse the strengths and weaknesses of financing of these and thus fulfil the aim of the work.
