Games in the Teaching of Foreign Languages

Abstract:

The theme of this thesis is the use of games in teaching foreign languages. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part contains general information about the game, its definition, characteristics, significance for peoples, the relation between playing and learning, apply games in foreign language teaching and use of media as a playful form of learning and teaching. The empirical part is devoted to the research. Based on the finding out was created a case study that inform whether it is a practice game for students beneficial, and whether they are in practicing the game more active than when practicing conventional complementary exercises. For work on the empirical part were chosen method of qualitative approach, and participant contemplation and interviews.

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je použití her ve výuce cizích jazyků. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část obsahuje všeobecné informace o hře, její definici, charakteristiku, význam pro člověka, vztah mezi hraním si a učením se, nasazení hry ve výuce cizího jazyka a použití médií jako hravou formu výuky. V empirické části se věnuji samotnému výzkumu. Na základě zjištěných poznatků byla vytvořena případová studie, která informuje o tom, zda-li je procvičování hrou pro žáky přínosnější, a zda-li jsou při procvičování hrou aktivnější, než při procvičování klasickým doplňujícím cvičením. Pro práci na empirické části byly zvoleny metody kvalitativního přístupu, a to zúčastněné pozorování a rozhovory.
