Functional recovery and return to sporting activity in a patient with anterior cruciate ligament lesion treated with the gracilis and semitendinosus tendon graft: case report

Abstract:

The knee joint often faces trauma and the ligament that is most affected by injury is the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) that occurs in sports subjects from 15 to 25 years old during sports that involve rapid changes of direction and high speeds of execution, in fact often found in footballers and basketball players. It is often associated with other types of secondary, meniscal and medial collateral ligament (LCM) damage. The treatment is based on post-operative rehabilitation in the case of surgical treatment, if the subject develops instability, or non-surgical treatment aimed at returning to sports.

Abstract:

L'articolazione del ginocchio va spesso incontro a traumi e il legamento che viene pi? interessato per lesione ? il legamento crociato anteriore (LCA) che si verifica in soggetti sportivi dai 15 ai 25 anni durante sport che implicano cambi di direzione rapidi e alta velocit? di esecuzione, difatti riscontrata spesso in calciatori e cestisti. Spesso ? associata ad altri tipi di danno secondario, meniscali e del legamento collaterale mediale (LCM). Il trattamento ? basato sulla riabilitazione post-operatoria in caso di trattamento chirurgico, se il soggetto sviluppa instabilit?, o trattamento di tipo non chirurgico mirati al rientro all'attivit? sportiva.
