Evolution of standing of the far-right political parties within the party systems of Denmark, Sweden and Finland in context of recent migration crisis

Abstract:

The object of this bachelor thesis is to examine tendencies of far-right parties to rise and they are to be examined on cases of Scandinavian countries, members of the European Union, particularly Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The thesis then proceeds by evaluation of the evolution of their positions within the party systems of each country since their emergence until present days with respect to ongoing migration crisis, while the main aim of the thesis is to reflect the changes in political preferences, potential to form the ruling coalition, and thus their real influence on the state politics with special attention paid to the relations between these two factors and the rise of immigration to the region. Reactions of the far-right parties on the migration crisis are subsequently examined to enable an assessment of the importance of immigration-critical policy and rhetoric in their political success.

Abstract:

Predmetom tejto bakalárskej práce je skúmať trend vzostupu krajne-pravicových politických strán škandinávskych krajín, patriacich do EÚ, Švédska, Dánska a Fínska, a zhodnotiť vývoj ich postavenia v rámci straníckych systémov od ich vzniku a následne v súvislosti s migračnou krízou. Práca si dáva za cieľ reflektovať premeny vo voličských preferenciách a vývoj koaličného potenciálu a reálneho politického vplyvu týchto strán v súvislosti s vývojom imigrácie do daných štátov a pozorovať vzťahy medzi týmito faktormi. Text práce bude tiež zameraný na reakcie daných strán na vypuknutie migračnej krízy v roku 2015 a v súvislosti s tým tiež na dôležitosť anti-imigračného apelu na úspech skúmaných krajne-pravicových strán.
