Employee's and employer's approach to teleworking through ICT

Abstract:

V roce 2020 došlo ve světě k rozšíření koronaviru COVID-19. V důsledku zavedených hygienických opatření, která se týkala především omezení fyzického kontaktu většího počtu osob, došlo k výraznému nárůstu využití práce na dálku a přesunu komunikace do online prostoru. Míra využití této formy práce zdůraznila nedostatky v nastavení firemních procesů, které ve většině odpovídají organizačním potřebám práce v kanceláři, nereflektují specifika práce na dálku a nevyužívají tak potenciál dostupných technologií. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá preferencí práce na dálku z pohledu zaměstnance a zaměstnavatele ve Společnosti X. Cílem práce je vytvoření doporučení k vhodnějšímu nastavení organizace a celkového pojetí pracovního procesu. Tato doporučení jsou sestavena na základě výstupů dotazníkového šetření, provedeného autorem ve zkoumaném oddělení Společnosti X. K vyhodnocení výsledků je použita statistická analýza, pro kterou jsou sestaveny výzkumné hypotézy. Tyto hypotézy, založené na předpokládaném názorovém konfliktu mezi zaměstnanci a zaměstnavateli, jsou na základě chí kvadrát testu závislosti zamítnuty. Zjištěná názorová shoda a konkrétní identifikace slabých míst v současném využívání práce na dálku vytváří příležitost pro Společnost X, aby zkušenosti využila a přetransformovala je v nové, flexibilnější nastavení organizace pracovního procesu.

Abstract:

The spread of new coronavirus COVID-19 started in the year 2020. Due to social distancing restrictions, aiming to decrease the chance of spreading the virus, the usage of telework increased rapidly. Newly set work conditions revealed the shortcomings of company processes, which were adjusted rather to the onsite, office type of work, not reflecting telework specifics and therefore not using the full potential of the ICT. This master thesis is focused on the telework preferences of the employees and employers in Organisation X. The main goal of this thesis is to create a set of recommendations for the ideal usage of telework as a part of regular work processes. These recommendations are created based on the questionnaire results, in which the author surveys the IT development department of Organisation X. A statistical analysis of the results is concluded to prove or disprove the research hypotheses. These hypotheses were constructed based on the assumed opinion dispute between the employees and employers and disproved by the results of the chi-squared test. The recommendations created by the author provide an opportunity for Organisation X to create modern work conditions, which will be beneficial for the whole company.
