Peptidases play a vital role in intrinsic processes of all organisms, i.e. digestion, tissue rebuilding or facilitating the immune system response. The cell regulates activity of these powerful enzymes by various measures. One of the ways the cell does this, is by producing peptides that specifically inhibit diverse peptidases.
