The etnic coexistence in Jesenicko

Abstract:

Diplomová práce seznámí čtenáře se zcela individuální historií západního Slezska, česko-německými vztahy a spletitou společenskou strukturou, která byla ukončena odsunem Němců po roce 1945. Vznikl tak prosto pro další osídlování, které se skládalo z barvité mozaiky různých národů, zejména reemigrantů a repatriantů. Tato nová kolonizace je novodobé téma, které jsem se snažila uchopit jak z ideologického hlediska, tak i moderním pojetí soužití odlišných národů v jistém prostoru. V závěru se středobodem mého zkoumání stala řecká komunita na Jesenicku, kterou jsem podrobila kvalitativnímu výzkumu. Případové studie přináší zajímavé závěry a prognózy do budoucna v oblasti kultury, identity, splývání kultur, asimilace a integrace.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis introduces the reader to a very individual history of western Silesia, Czech-German relations, and with complicated social structure, which ended by expulsion of German citizens after 1945. It resulted in further settlement, which con-sisted of a colorful mosaic of different nations, especially reemigrants and repatriates. This new colonization is a nouveau topic that I tried to cover ideologically as well as in terms of a modern concept of coexisting nations in a certain area. In the end, my research became the centerpiece of the Greek community in Jesenicko, which I examined through a qualitative research. The case study presents interesting conclusions and prognosis in the field of culture, identity, blending cultures, assimilation, and integration.
