Ionization concepts and their use in vehicle interior

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje problematice změn parametrů iontového mikroklimatu interiéru vozidel. Konkrétně se zabývá změnami koncentrace ionizovaných částic v kabině vozidla v závislosti na nastavení režimu klimatizace, nastavení intenzity ventilátoru, umístění samotného generátoru iontů a dalších faktorech daného prostředí. Rešeršní část práce je zaměřena na obecnou definici ionizovaných částic, historii elektricky nabitých částic a výskyt vzdušných iontů v atmosféře. Dále je také zaměřena na fyzikální podstatu vzniku a zániku vzdušných iontů, druhy vzdušných iontů, zdroje ionizační energie a činitele ovlivňující koncentraci iontů v atmosférickém vzduchu. Řeší se zde vliv vzdušných iontů na lidský organismus a konkrétní účinky vyvolané změnou přirozené koncentrace ionizovaných částic ve vzduchu. Dále je zde popsáno využití umělé ionizace vzduchu a druhy zařízení, která jsou k tomuto účelu využívána. Jsou zde uvedena doporučení pro využívání ionizace vzduchu v uzavřených prostorách budov, která lze převzít pro využití ionizace v interiérech vozidel. Práce se také detailněji zabývá prostředím interiéru vozidla, tedy celkovým mikroklimatem, elektro-iontovým mikroklimatem, hodnocením kvality a čistoty daného mikroklimatu vozidla, systémy kontroly kvality vzduchu a bezpečností jízdy v souvislosti s iontovým mikroklimatem. Závěrem rešeršní části je ucelený přehled konceptů ionizace ve vozidlech. Praktická část práce se zabývá měřením koncentrace vzdušných iontů v interiéru vozidla za použití několika konceptů ionizace. Z výsledků je patrná závislost koncentrace negativních vzdušných iontů na umístění ionizátoru v proudu vzduchu (distribuce částic), stupni ventilátoru a elementech usměrňujících proud ionizovaného vzduchu. Na základě analýzy výsledků měření byla sestavena kritéria pro hodnocení jednotlivých konceptů v závislosti na nastavení klimatizace, režimu měření, stupni ventilátoru a parametrů daných konceptů ionizace včetně jejich umístění. Dle výsledků byl vybrán nejvhodnější koncept z hlediska distribuce iontů a bylo stanoveno obecně ideální umístění ionizátoru.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the problem of changes in the ionic microclimate parameters of vehicle interiors. Specifically, it deals with the changes in the concentration of ionized particles in the vehicle cabin depending on the setting of the air conditioning mode, the fan intensity setting, the location of the ion generator itself and other environmental factors. The review part of the thesis focuses on the general definition of ionized particles, the history of electrically charged particles and the occurrence of airborne ions in the atmosphere. It also focuses on the physical nature of the formation and disappearance of air ions, types of air ions, sources of ionization energy, and factors affecting the concentration of ions in atmospheric air. The effect of air ions on the human body and the specific effects caused by changes in the natural concentration of ionized particles in the air are addressed. It also describes the use of artificial ionisation of air and the types of equipment used for this purpose. Recommendations for the use of air ionisation in indoor areas of buildings are given, which can be adopted for the use of ionisation in vehicle interiors. The paper also looks in more detail at the vehicle interior environment, i.e. the overall microclimate, the electro-ionic microclimate, the assessment of the quality and purity of a given vehicle microclimate, air quality control systems and driving safety in relation to the ionic microclimate. The research section concludes with a comprehensive overview of ionisation concepts in vehicles. The practical part of the thesis deals with the measurement of air ion concentrations in the vehicle interior using several ionization concepts. The results show the dependence of the concentration of negative air ions on the location of the ionizer in the air stream (particle distribution), the fan stage and the elements directing the ionized air stream. On the basis of the analysis of the measurement results, criteria for the evaluation of the individual concepts depending on the air conditioning settings, the measurement mode, the fan stage and the parameters of the ionization concepts including their location were established. According to the results, the most suitable concept in terms of ion distribution was selected and the generally ideal ionizer location was determined.
