Pupils with Tic Disorders and Tourette Syndrome

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou tikových poruch a Touretteova syndromu. Cílem je charakterizovat problematiku tikových poruch a Touretteova syndromu u žáků základních škol s přiblížením možných komorbidit a zjistit informovanost pedagogů základních škol o tikových poruchách a Touretteově syndromu. Práce je tvořena dvěma částmi. První je teoretická část, která obsahuje objasnění důležitých pojmů. Jedná se především o tiky, tikové projevy, komorbidní poruchy a Touretteův syndrom, jemuž je věnována v práci samostatná kapitola. Popisovány jsou projevy a klasifikace tikových poruch, jejich epidemiologie a možné související poruchy; dále pohled na historii Touretteova syndromu, možnosti terapie tikových poruch a socializace dětí s tikovými poruchami a Touretteovým syndromem. Empirická část se zabývá výsledky výzkumu, který byl realizován pomocí dotazníku pro pedagogy dvou "běžných" a dvou "speciálních" základních škol. Zajímala nás informovanost pedagogů o Touretteově syndromu a jejich zkušenost s žáky s tikovými poruchami a Touretteovým syndromem. Zároveň jsme srovnávali, zda jsou pedagogové "speciálních" základních škol lépe informováni o problematice Touretteova syndromu než pedagogové "běžných" základních škol. Zjišťovali jsme, zda je větší výskyt žáků s Touretteovým syndromem v "běžných" základních školách nebo ve "speciálních" základních školách a na prvním nebo druhém stupni; jaký je zájem pedagogů o informace týkající se Touretteova syndromu a jaké je vzdělání pedagogů základních škol zahrnutých do výzkumu.

Abstract:

The Thesis deals with the problems of tic disorders and Tourette syndrome. The aim is to characterize the problems of tic disorders and Tourette syndrome with the elementary school pupils, including the information about possible comorbidities, and to find out how much the elementary school pedagogues are informed about the tic disorders and Tourette syndrome. The Thesis consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to theory and contains explanation of important terms. It is first of all the case of the tics, manifestation of tics, comorbid disorders, and Tourette syndrom, to which a separate chapter is devoted. Description of the manifestation and classification of tic disorders, epidemiology thereof and possible related disorders, a look into history of Tourette syndrom, tic disorders therapy and socialization of children suffering from tic disorders and Tourette syndrome. The empirical part of the Thesis describes the results of the investigation performed by means of questionaires assigned to pedagogues of two "common" and two "special" elementary schools. We wanted to know the level of information about the Tourette syndrome with the pedagogues, and what is their expirience with the pupils suffering from tic disorders and Tourette syndrome. In the same time we compared if the "special" elementary schools pedagogues are better informed about the problems of Tourette syndrom than those in "common" elementary schools. We also investigated if there is more pupils suffering from Tourette syndrome in "common" elementary schools or in "special" elementary schools, and if the number of such pupils is higher on the first or on the second grade; in which extent the pedagogues are interested in getting information related to Tourette syndrome, and what is the level of the education of the elementary school pedagogues involved in the investigation.
