Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca skúma integráciu technológie Internet vecí (IoT) pri vývoji siete inteligentných predajných automatov, pričom využíva programovací jazyk Rust v kontexte no_std (bare metal, programovací prístup, ktorý priamo pracuje s hardvérom bez operačného systému). Cieľom projektu je demonštrovať potenciál IoT v zlepšovaní používateľských skúseností a zjednodušovaní operačných úloh prostredníctvom aplikácie efektívnosti Rustu v prostrediach s obmedzenými zdrojmi. Jadro projektu tvoria vývojové kity ESP32-S3-BOX, z ktorých každý reprezentuje model inteligentného predajného automatu. Tieto kity sú vybavené integrovaným LCD displejom a environmentálnym senzorom BME680, ktoré umožňujú zobrazenie inventára a environmentálnych podmienok v reálnom čase. Projekt využíva MQTT s TLS pre bezpečný prenos dát z automatov na cloudovú službu AWS IoT. Tieto dáta sú následne spracované a zobrazované na používateľsky prívetivej webovej stránke, ktorá sa automaticky aktualizuje každú minútu, čo zabezpečuje dostupnosť aktuálnych informácií.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis explores the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the development of a network of smart vending machines, utilizing the Rust programming language in a no_std context(bare metal, a programming approach that operates directly on hardware without an operating system). The project aims to demonstrate the potential of IoT in enhancing user experiences and streamlining operational tasks through the application of Rust's efficiency in resource-constrained environments. The core of the project revolves around the ESP32-S3-BOX development kits, each representing a smart vending machine model. These kits are equipped with an integrated LCD display and a BME680 environmental sensor, enabling real-time display of inventory and environmental conditions. The project harnesses MQTT over TLS for secure data transmission from the machines to the AWS IoT cloud service. This data is then processed and displayed on a user-friendly website that updates automatically every minute, ensuring up-to-date information availability.
