Gender, Masculinity And Femininity In the Intergenerational Differences

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou genderu a jeho psychologickými charakteristikami maskulinitou, feminitou a androgynií u mužů a žen z pohledu dvou generací ? současných dopívajících a seniorů. Současně se zaměřuje na rozdíly v postojích ke genderové roli a spokojenosti s genderem mezi generacemi. Teoretická část práce se zabývá klíčovými pojmy. Vymezuje pojem gender, jeho vztah k biologickému pohlaví a charakterizuje feminitu, maskulinitu a androgynii. Další kapitola se zaměřuje na proces utváření genderu a osvojování sociálních rolí v průběhu lidského života, rozebírá vliv významných socializačních činitelů při utváření genderu ? hraček, dětské literatury, školního prostředí, vrstevníků či médií. Současně stručně popisuje vývojové etapy dospívání a stáří. Poslední kapitola teoretické části mé práce je věnována změnám v pojetí mužské a ženské role v průběhu doby. Jsou popsány proměny postavení žen ve sféře vzdělávací, pracovní i domácí s odkazem k historické tradici Ženského hnutí. U mužů pak věnuji pozornost současnému fenoménu krize maskulinity, jejím příčinám, důsledkům a novým požadavkům na roli muže, otce. Navazující výzkumná část práce pak pomocí dotazníkového šetření zkoumá rozdíly v maskulinitě, feminitě a androgynii u adolescentů a seniorů, sleduje rozdíly v jejich názorech na vztahy mezi muži a ženami a spokojenost s jejich genderem.

Abstract:

This thesis is dealting with the question of gender and its psychological characteristics of maskulinity, femininity and androgyny among men and women from the perspective of two generations ? present adolescents and seniors. Currently it is focused on the differences in attitudes to gender role and satisfaction with gender among generations. The theoretical part is dealting with key terms. It defines the term gender, its relation to biological sex and it describes femininity, masculinity and androgyny. The next chapter is focused on the gender forming process and on the learning of gender roles during the human life. It analyses the influence of important socialization factors during the gender configuration ? toys, children´s literature, school, peers or media. This chapter currently briefly describes the development periods of adolescence and old-age. The last chapter of theoretical part is devoted to changes in man´s a woman´s role during the time. There are described changes women´s role in education, working and domestic sphere in reference to historical tradition of Feminism. I pay attention to present phenomenon crisis of masculinity, its causes, consequences and also to new needs for man´s and father´s role. The following research part of my thesis explores by the help of survey the differences in masculinity, femininity and androgyny by adolescents and seniors, it observes the differences in their opinions of relations among men an women and satisfaction with their gender.
