Dne 4 července 2012 byla přijata regulace OTC Derivátu - European Market Infrastructure Regulation (známa jako "EMIR"), která přišla v platnost 16 srpna 2012. Regulace požaduje, aby standardní derivátové kontrakty byli "clearingovany" přes ústřední protistrany (CCPs) stejně jako hranice pro "neclearingované" obchody a ustanovuje striktní organizační a obezřetné obchodnořídící požadavky pro CCPs. On 4 July 2012, the Regulation on OTC Derivatives, Central Counterparties and Trade Repositories (known as "EMIR") - European Market Infrastructure Regulation) was adopted and entered into force on 16 August 2012.
