The risk of transmission of infection as an adverse effect of nutritional therapy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o otázkách bezpečnosti enterální výživy v rámci nutriční terapie. Krátce pojednává o dietním systému, který je jedním z nástrojů nutriční terapie, a o skutečnosti, že potraviny či pokrm může být za určitých okolností zdrojem tzv. alimentárního onemocnění. Dále bakalářská práce krátce popisuje enterální výživu: způsoby aplikace enterální výživy, indikace kontraindikace a komplikace. Je zde zmínka i o parenterální výživě. Velká pozornost je věnována hygienickým standardům, ať už v přípravě stravy per os, tak při přípravě, podávání a manipulaci s přípravky a sety pro enterální výživu. A to právě proto, že pochybení v některém z výše jmenovaných bodů často vede k rozvoji infekčních komplikací při podávání enterální výživy. Praktická část je zaměřena na zjištění míry informovanosti studentů oboru všeobecná sestra o problematice hygieno - epidemiologických standardů a doporučení a postupů při aplikaci a manipulaci s přípravky a sety pro enterální výživu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the problematic of the enteral tube feeding within the nutrition therapy. It shortly describes the dietary system, one of the nutrition therapy tools, and the fact that foodstuff or the meal can be in certain circumstances the source of the so-called alimentary ailment. It also gives a short description of the enteral tube feeding: the ways of its application, indications, contraindications and complications; there’s also a mention about the parenteral nutrition. The main attention is given to the sanitary norms regarding to the meal preparation per os or to the application or the manipulation with the tools or the sets used for enteral tube feeding. As result of a mistake in those mentioned procedures are often some infectious complications during the enteral tube feeding application. The practical part proposes to find out the degree of the general nurse student’s knowledge about the problematic of the sanitary and epidemiological norms, recommendations and ways during the application and manipulation with the tools and sets used for enteral tube feeding.
