Burnout in employed persons up to the age of 35

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována syndromu vyhoření, což je negativní stav spojen se ztrátou energie a nadšení a dále také s apatií jak k pracovním, tak i soukromým záležitostem. Jedná se také o problém, který může postihnout každého z nás a může být obtížné jej odhalit. Důvodem tématu byla také popularita této problematiky v dnešní době, jedná se o pojem hojně užívaný. Ve své práci jsem si stanovila za cíl dokázat, zda se tento jev vyskytuje také u osob do věku 35 let (protože ve většině případů je spojováno se staršími lidmi) v profesi jiné než pomáhající (s kterou bývá pojem nejčastěji spojován). Pro výzkum byli zvoleni pouze zaměstnanci rychlého občerstvení z důvodu jasnějších výsledků, než kdyby respondenti měli rozdílná zaměstnání. V teoretické části se čtenář seznámí s detaily syndromu, ať už příznaky, prevence, rizikové skupiny apod. Dozví se také o lidské odolnosti, která má s tématem hodně společného. Výzkumná část probíhala metodou sběru dat, kdy se respondentům předložil MBI dotazník doplněn o další otázky. Ve výzkumu se dokázalo, že se syndrom vyhoření u osob do 35 let opravdu vyskytuje a z jednotlivých hypotéz vycházejí také detailnější výsledky, s kterými můžou v případě zájmu pracovat konkrétní řetězce, jejichž zaměstnanci se výzkumu účastnili.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is about burnout syndrome, which is a negative condition associated with loss of energy and enthusiasm, as well as with apathy for both work and private life. It is also a problem which can affect all of us and can be really difficult to discover that someone is struggling with this problem. The reason why this topic was chosen is the popularity of this issue these days, it is a widely used term. The goal of my thesis is to prove if this phenomenon also occurs people under the age of 35 (because in most cases it is associated with older people) in a profession other than helping profession (with which the term is most often associated). Only fast food employees were selected for the research because of the clearer results than if the respondents had different jobs. In the theoretical part, the reader will get acquainted with the details of the syndrome, whether symptoms, prevention, risk groups, etc. They will also learn about human resilience, which has a lot to do with the topic. The research part took place using the method of data collection, when the respondents were presented with an MBI questionnaire supplemented by few more questions. The research showed that the burnout syndrome does occur in people under the age of 35, and the individual hypotheses also provide more detailed results, which can be used by fastfood chains whose employees participated in the research if they are interested.
