The History of Liberec exhibition market in the first half of the 20th century

Abstract:

Diplomová práce primárně analyzuje průběh devatenácti ročníků Libereckých trhů v první polovině 20. století. Shrnuje jednání mezi městem Liberec a spolkem Reichenberger Messe, která předcházela prvnímu ročníku trhů, bezprostředně související organizační záležitosti a také aspekty, jež měly pozitivní i negativní vliv na celou tuto akci v průběhu let 1920?1938. Část práce je věnována zázemí podpůrných institucí spolku Reichenberger Messe, samotných vystavovatelů a návštěvníků. Z toho důvodu práce klade rovněž důraz na výstavní budovy, především školy a výstaviště, které bylo postaveno při dnešní Masarykově ulici, ale do dnešních dnů se nedochovalo. Na trhy po první světové válce měly bezesporu vliv dvě zásadní výstavy - Všeobecná zemská jubilejní výstava v Praze z roku 1891 a Německo-česká výstava v Liberci z roku 1906. Nedílnou součástí trhů byl bohatý doprovodný program, o němž je v práci rovněž zmínka. Ke zvýšení návštěvnosti akce přispěl především liberecký ?Prátr?. Liberecké trhy byly ve své době prezentovány jako velmi úspěšné, což v konečném důsledku vedlo ke zvýšení prestiže města.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis analyses the process of nineteen years of Liberec markets in the first half of the 20th century. It summarizes the discussion between the town of Liberec and the club Reichenberger Messe, which proceeded the first year of markets directly related to organizational issue and aspects that have a positive or negative influence on the whole event over the years 1920-1938. The part of the work is devoted to the background of supporting institutions Reichenberger Messe, exhibitors and visitors themselves. For this reason, the work emphasis on the exhibition buildings, especially schools and the exhibition ground that was built with today´s Masaryk Street, but now no longer exists. After the First World War had undoubtedly effect on the market two major exhibitions ? Ground Land Jubilee Exhibition in Prague in 1891 and German-Czech exhibition in Liberec in 1906. An integral part of the markets was a rich supporting program, which is also mentioned in the work. To increase the attendance of the event contributed mainly Liberec Prater. The markets in Liberec were presented as very successful, which led to the increased prestige of the city.
