On the Vicious Circle of Ideologies. Anti-fascist and socially critical aspects of Hedda Zinner's dramas

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to show, how the antifascist, left-wing exile author Hedda Zinner reflected her political and social critical beliefs through her dramas. The first part of the thesis deals with the process of obtaining exile permit in Czecho-slovakia and with the job opportunities of the exiles. The second part of the thesis contains biography of Hedda Zinner in focus on her political actions during the time in exile in Prague, mainly with the management of the exile theater group Studio 34. In the last part of my bachelor thesis three concrete dramas are analyzed based on their socio-critical and anti-fascist aspects.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je poukázat na to, jakým způsobem Hedda Zinner, jakožto antifašistická a levicově orientovaná autorka, zrcadlila své politické a sociálně kritické myšlenky ve svých dramatech. První část práce se věnuje průběhu udělení povolení k exilu v Československu a pracovním příležitostem exulantů . Druhá část práce obsahuje biografii Heddy Zinner se zaměřením na její činnost během roku v exilu v Praze, primárně vedení její divadelní skupiny Studio 34. V poslední části práce jsou analyzována tři konkrétní dramata, a to na základě sociálně kritických a antifašistických znaků.
