Implementation of the requirements of the British Retail Consortium Global standard at tha packaging manufacturer

Abstract:

British Retail Consortium Global Standard je norma vysokého hygienického standardu a je jedinou oborovou normou, která je přímo určena výrobcům působícím v obalovém průmyslu. Cílem práce je ověření systému nastavených kontrolních bodů v podobě směrnic a instrukcí potřebných k zajištění bezpečnosti produktu a splnění požadavků normy British Retail Consortium Global Standard. Dílčím cílem je prokázání, že pomocí implementace těchto směrnic a instrukcí došlo ke snížení odběratelských reklamací, týkajících se bezpečnosti produktu. Pro naplnění cíle byla zvolena metoda PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act). V praktické části je popsáno zavedení normy, je provedeno zhodnocení vývoje reklamací včetně ověření, zda jsou nastavené směrnice a instrukce dodržovány. Na základě porovnání výsledků šetření bylo zjištěno, že po implementaci normy došlo ke snížení reklamací od odběratelů a výrobci obalů se tak daří eliminovat vznik rizika kontaminace odběratele neshodným produktem. V případě ověření systému kontrolních bodů byly na základě zjištění navrženy kroky ke zlepšení, neboť dodržování a následné vyhodnocování nastavených instrukcí je klíčové.

Abstract:

The British Retail Consortium Global Standard is a high hygiene standard and is the only industry standard that is directly intended for manufacturers operating in the packaging industry. The aim of the work is to verify the system of set control points in the form of guidelines and instructions needed to ensure product safety and to meet the requirements of the British Retail Consortium Global Standard. A partial goal is to demonstrate that the implementation of these guidelines and instructions has resulted in a reduction of customer complaints related to product safety. The PDCA method (Plan, Do, Check, Act) was chosen to fulfill the goal. In the practical part, the implementation of the standard is described, the development of complaints is evaluated, including the verification of whether the set guidelines and instructions are followed. Based on the comparison of the results of the investigation, it was found that after the implementation of the standard there was a reduction of customer complaints, and the packaging manufacturer is thus able to eliminate the risk of customer contamination with a non-conforming product. In case of verification of control points system, were proposed, based on the findings, steps for improvement, as compliance with instructions and subsequent evaluation of their setting is key.
