Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl posoudit životaschopnost jazyka severoamerického indiánského kmene Haida. Na začátku práce je podán obecný pohled na téma ohrožených jazyků ve světě. V další části se text soustředí na samotný kmen Haidů. Nabízí základní informace vztahující se k historii, kultuře, každodennímu životu a současným problémům tohoto kmene.
