"Dej pánbůh Čechům štěstí!" - Český nacionalismus v pivovarnictví 1895-1945

Abstract:

Předkládaný text mapuje historii akciových pivovarů vzniklých českým národním impulzem. Klade si za cíl určit důležitost tohoto principu založení v jednotlivých dějinných segmentech a sledovat provázanost jednotlivých podniků s národní ideou v průběhu jejich existence. Časový rozsah výzkumu na straně jedné odpovídá založení prvních takových závodů (1871) a na straně druhé reflektuje ztrátu národního know-how způsobenou odsunem německého obyvatelstva z českých zemí a následným znárodněním (1945-1948). V úvodní části určuje a představuje motivy a okolnosti ovlivňující vznik podniků. Jak z výše řečeného vyplývá, není analýza zaměřena striktně na hospodářské dějiny jednotlivých podniků, ale snaží se pivovary zasadit do širšího kontextu zahrnujícího také celospolečenské jevy projevující se v pivovarnickém prostředí. V tomto směru je možné zmínit jak negativní jevy jako antisemitismus a nacionalismus, tak i jevy pozitivní jako například podpůrná činnost jednotlivých podniků nebo národní festivity konané, popřípadě spoluorganizované sledovanými pivovary. Následně je pozornost zaměřena na vývoj podniků s ohledem na národní specifika, která pro závody měla pozitivní, ale i negativní dopady. Výzkum je podepřen dostupným pramenným materiálem jednotlivých podniků a dalších organizací spojených s jejich fungováním. Neoddiskutovatelnou důležitost má ve sledovaném tématu periodický tisk, který ukazuje optiku, kterou na pivovary hleděla česká veřejnost a tím pomáhá pochopit vnímání těchto podniků nejen jako průmyslových závodů, ale také jako výdobytků národního snažení. Vzhledem k poloze celkem 17 zkoumaných subjektů je práce z větší části orientována na moravské prostředí, což sebou přináší nutnost komparovat většinu zjištěného v kontextu odlišnosti Čech a Moravy. K analýze byla využita přímá metoda. Ta se zaměřila na nacionální prvky obsažené přímo v písemnostech vzešlých z agendy jednotlivých závodů, ale i v dalších pramenech, které umožnily sledovat národní rovinu pivovarů. Metoda nepřímá pak umožnila u podniků, u nichž nemáme dostatek pramenů určitou generalizaci zjištěného. V některých případech bylo také přistoupeno k sondě, která sloužila spíše k ověření pravdivosti dílčí teze, či k podpoření nepřímé metody. Výsledkem výzkumu je určitá typologie pivovarů založených českým národním impulzem vycházející z ideje hospodářské svépomoci. Tato typologie je následně komparována s reálným stavem a "chováním" podniků v průběhu jejich existence.

Abstract:

This text traces the history of joint-stock breweries established by the Czech national impulse. It aims to determine the importance of this founding principle in particular historical segments and to trace the interconnection of individual enterprises with the national idea during their existence. The temporal scope of the research corresponds, on the one hand, to the founding of the first such plants (1871) and, on the other hand, reflects the loss of national know-how caused by the expulsion of the German population from the Czech lands and the subsequent nationalization (1945-1948). In the introductory part, it identifies and presents the motives and circumstances influencing the establishment of the companies. As can be seen from the above, the analysis does not focus strictly on the economic history of individual enterprises, but seeks to place the breweries in a broader context that also includes the societal phenomena manifested in the brewing environment. In this respect, it is possible to mention both negative phenomena such as anti-Semitism and nationalism, as well as positive phenomena such as the supportive activities of individual companies or national festivals held or co-organised by the researched breweries. Subsequently, attention is focused on the development of the enterprises with regard to national specificities, which had both positive and negative effects for the plants. The research is supported by the available source material of individual enterprises and other organisations associated with their operations. Of undisputed importance in the topic under study is the periodical press, which shows the optics through which the Czech public viewed breweries and thus helps to understand the perception of these enterprises not only as industrial plants but also as achievements of national endeavour. Due to the location of the 17 subjects studied, the thesis is largely oriented towards the Moravian environment, which entails the necessity of comparing most of the findings in the context of the differences between Bohemia and Moravia. The direct method was used for the analysis. It focused on the national elements contained directly in the documents originating from the agenda of the individual plants, but also in other sources that made it possible to trace the national level of the breweries. The indirect method, in turn, allowed, for those companies for which we do not have enough sources, a certain generalisation of what was found. In some cases, a probe was also resorted to, which served more to test the truth of a partial thesis or to support the indirect method. The result of the research is a certain typology of breweries founded by the Czech national impulse based on the idea of economic self-help. This typology is then compared with the actual state and "behaviour" of the enterprises during their existence.
